It’s the end of another winter break, the first that I’ve ever had that was a month long. Alas, I go back to school tomorrow. Goddamn, it’s going to feel weird going back.
Hmm, let’s see, what did I do over the break. I started a blog that turned into this thing, I fought over decades old computers, I got a job (more later) and I got sick (again, more later). This break hasn’t felt like anything productive, but I think I’ve done more during this break than any other.
Now about the sickness thing. I got sick on Thursday night which lead to me staying in the bathroom all day Friday, killing Saturdays plans and making me feel shitty during work on Sunday. Don’t really know what it was, but it sucked. Yeah, if you didn’t really see me online all that much during the past few days, this is why.
Now about work. It was a fairly easy first day. I handle general store maintenance for the supermarket down the street (read: I push carts in the parking lot of a store). Ehh, it’s was a simple first day, considering the work cycle consisted of work for 15 minutes, figure out what to do for 5 minutes, then stand around for 10 minutes. This cycle repeated for 5 hours except for the third hour where the first work period is replaced with break. The hours went by fast.
Now back to the SPARCstation. I think NetBSD will be the one ending up on it. I though one could get a Solaris license for free for personal use under their Free Binary License (or whatever it’s called). It turns out that it’s only for new hardware, which doesn’t make sense since Sun is already throwing in Solaris for it. Someone mind explaining it to me.
how was school?
