Nothing much of interest happening lately. In fact it’s really been boring.
Ehh, I have an exam tomorrow. I ought to really look at the material more. Guess I’ll do that now, since I have nothing else to do. I have to get up early tomorrow to study also. It’s going to be a bitch to get up tomorrow morning. Alas, I must.
In other news, I will be quiting the job I have at Stop & Shop (hence forth known as Hell #856) on Saturday. Well, it’s been a interesting seven months. I can’t say that I earned much in the way of money, but I did earn some real world job experience. I learned one thing working there: Work only what you have to, so your manager things that you are a good worker/person. Nothing more, nothing less. Any more and you will burn yourself out and hate your work, any less and your manager won’t like you. Also you must make good impression while you are around them. It’ll make your work experience much better. Hmm, the real world didn’t seem to be anything like I thought it would be. Hope Saturday won’t be hell.
My room is about the average size for a person of my age, location and status. It’s too small. It wouldn’t be too small if there wasn’t this monster bed in the room. It’s a king size bed that I use a quarter to a half of (don’t ask why I have it, it’s not really that interesting). Anyway, I need to get rid of the damn thing. I always ask my mom if I can get rid of it. She says yes and no. I don’t know, she give some bullshit reason how it would be difficult to get rid of and that how I shouldn’t try being done with it. Argh, it’s very difficult to do anything in this place. I think I might just get rid of it, and then deal with her crap later.
Speaking of clearing space, I need to clean my room. There really isn’t that much stuff around, but there is so little space that I need to constantly clear crap out of the room to make it “more managable”. I think I’m going to give mercy to none. If I don’t need it, it’s going. Hey, I might sell some of this crap on eBay if I feel like it.

I think the universe is asking me to change careers. For some reason, randon plumbing jobs around the house have been springing up. I had to stick my hand in a toliet tank, get wet in a shower and replace an air filter for a home environmental system. Anyway, plumbing is easier than this electrical/computer mumbo jumbo.
I got duct tape. Yay!
Had a mildly interesting day. I went to the Monmouth County Fair (in East Freehold Park) to see Sarah E. Rice make an ebarassment out of herself (pictures to be obtained later) in a wagoon obstacle course. She didn’t do that bad, placed 4th out of 7 (I think). Anyway, spent most of the day there looking at animals and eating various non-healthy foods. Not a bad day (can’t really say that about the ride home though (IM or email me if you want to know)).

Didn’t really do much today except follow a friend when he was at work. They were cleaning out a office in the D-wing of the Engineering building. A box of computer crap was part of the clean out. I claimed a carbus usb adaptor and a AUX->10BaseT MAU (Medium Attachment Unit). Don’t know about the card but I’m sure I’ll need the MAU sometime in the future.
It’s another boring Sunday. In fact, the only new thing is something old, I got my VAX fixation back. I want one again. So I went eBaying agian for one. Ehh, I think getting one can be held off until my finances come in order. God, VMS is so screwed up (but then again, people think that about Unix).
On another note, I’m working on a logo for the site. I got some plan for the logo and have most of it worked out, but I need to take picture of something for the background. I don’t know when I can take the snapshots, so I’m estimating for end of August to mid 2009. Ehh, I’ll try putting in a rush request on it.
Yeah, so I was going to Macworld CreativePro Expo. Stepped out of New York Penn station and started to walk. Damnit, some how I ended up on the east side of Manhattan, the Javitz Center in on the West side. Friggin’ had to walk all the way crosstown to go to the damn place.
Anyway, the expo was smaller than I thought it would be. There really wasn’t much to do after the 2 or so hours of looking at the vendors and the 2 hour of listening to the Apple people bable on. Got the place an hour later than I wanted and left a hour earlier. It was nice to kill a boring day, but I would not have gone there if I had something else to do.
So, I dropped the iBook thought. The iBook is really reaching it’s end-of-life. Come on, it has a G3 processor. That is old shit. If it had a semi-descent G4, then okay. I hadn’t really realized that the cpu was really that old. I was thinking about the laptop on the train ride home, and I thought “Oh man, this really sucks”. The Powerbooks are too much and I really don’t want x86 crap for a laptop. Anyway, I’m still trying to make up my mind. I was planning to get something by the end of the month, but I doubt that will happen. I really think I just might build a desktop, I need a windows box anyway.

Just got some money for a laptop. So I’ve been looking around. I’ve been wanting a iBook for a long time (almost a year). I really want one. Why? I have no clue, I just want one. Maybe because Darwin is based off of FreeBSD (some what). Maybe because I’m tired of all the Wintel crap that is out there and I want a new platform to play with (at one point I was going to get a SPARC or Alpha as my main computer (but money is the problem)). Mike was pushing a 17″ laptop on me, but I don’t know. Do I really need all that screen? Anyway, I’m still looking and deciding.
I’m going to Macworld CreativePro Expo & Conference tomorrow. Daemon News/BSD Mall had free passes to the expo part, so I decided to get one and kill few days (which turned into one day). Ehh, the only reason I am going to (like I said) to a kill day (and at very little cost too, I got free train tickets from someone). I think looking at the Macs tomorrow might make me decided if I should abandon the idead of “Eric getting a Mac”. Wow, that really looks funny.

It’s been a long time (continue reading for why).
It has been brought to my attention that the design of Copperwire isn’t what is should be. I just want to know what people think of the layout of the site. I personally think it’s pretty good (well, after I dumped that horrid pop-up comment thing), but then I’m a freaky Unix guy who doesn’t like eye candy much and prefers functionality over aesthetic appeal (I really don’t know any Unix guy who does). So leave a comment. Hell, leave a comment even if you don’t have anything to say. I’m really on the verge of dumping the site since I have no idea who exactly is reading (if any). I have the logs, so I know people read this shitwonderful insight.

There was a server upgrade a few days ago. Really don’t feel a difference in speed, but then again, this is a low traffic site. Oh yeah, lost a post and a few comments in the process.
