I fucking hate computer, every last one of them. They make my life to horrible. Let me just say one thing before I start, hold your yelling for the end (and the comments).
As all of you very well know, I was in the market for a laptop for a hell of a long time. Yeah, the word that should be in italics was “was”. I recently bought a laptop, but not just any laptop, an… <drum roll please> Apple iBook (I said hold your yelling for the the end). I knew that the moment I made that purchase, there would be controversy. And I knew that the controversy wouldn’t be just “Oh why the hell did you buy that shit?”, but heated so much, that it borderlined flaming (yeah, that is a pun (well, if you get it)). I haven’t even got the damn thing and I am already getting yelled at (oh sorry, “explaining one’s opinion with strong emotion and a loud voice”). I don’t think people know me all that well. I mean, they know I’m interested in computers and that is about it. What they don’t understand is how I am interested and I don’t think they ever will. Let me just put it this way, I have three computers in my room, one of which is PC hardware running FreeBSD, the other two are Suns, running OpenBSD and Solaris (people probably don’t know about the Solaris box (yeah, it’s a Ultra 10 (with a SunPCi card (which I haven’t used yet))). Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that I also have a PowerPC G3 (beige) laying around somewhere. You see, I don’t just use PC hardware, I use all different type, some of which none of you have/will ever see in your life. I chose what I chose because I want it. I know it is not the popular choice, in fact, it’s probably far from it. But then again, I’m usually the odd one around: the Unix user among the Windows people, the FreeBSD guy among the Linux boys, and (finally) the Mac owner among the PC lovers. I stand by my decision. For a moment, I regretted making the purchase, someone (who shall remain nameless) came into my room and started going off about how their significant other was very disappointed with my recent purchase and went on about how they could get a better deal on a laptop, but not just any laptop, a laptop the way I wanted it. Okay, sure. I’ll return the iBook when you can get me a laptop running a UltraSPARC III chip, 1 GB of RAM and a SCSI hard disk. It’s very unlikely that they will, so I’ll just leave with one thing: This is what I want.
hey, I don’t care. iBooks look cool. just make sure you run linux on this system and I’ll forgive ya.
hewwo eric!
same thing mike says.
sry but im wrkin with an Ibook in skool and they SUCK and not 2 mention annoying as hell.
Kim, could you elaborate? I mean I find things that are annoying with most computers. Also, remember, I don’t come from a Windows background, so things that are “annoying” since that aren’t the same in Windows and Mac OS X really don’t bother me since I bounce around different type of computers in a day (i.e. I can adjust) (yeah, I can switch between three different keyboard layouts without much difficulty (like right now I’m using an Sun keyboard with the “control” and “caps lock” key switched from PC keyboard)).
If anyone else find any annoyances or likes, please do tell.
Oh yeah, which one was it? There has been a few different models (including the ugly colored ones, which I didn’t like).
